Caitlin Halferty brings more than fifteen years of industry
experience to her current role as Director, Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Accelerator and Client Success, IBM. Caitlin most recently spearheaded the
development of IBM’s first Global Chief Data Office, an 950+ person global organization
tasked with delivering IBM’s data strategy and driving transformation to become
a data and AI business. Caitlin leads the client-facing business for the
office, leading a team of subject matter experts that partner with clients to realize
the business value of data and analytics across their enterprises and
accelerate their own AI transformations. In this role, Caitlin has been
responsible for building IBM’s global client community of 700+ C-Suite data and
AI leaders, and for hosting CDO summits in North America and globally including
Singapore, Tokyo, Johannesburg, and Dubai.
She has held several leadership roles at IBM, including analyst
and influencer relations, and has led cross-functional global IT and business
teams to deliver organizational change, infrastructure systems, and enterprise-wide
technology platforms. Caitlin has extensive experience collaborating with
global teams, having completed international assignments in South Africa and
India, as well as managing projects across several continents. She has
published thought leadership on diverse topics such as Power of Partnership
(Shifts in Outsourcing), Innovation in Africa, and Chief Data Officers.
Caitlin is a guest lecturer at the Stanford University
Center for Sustainable Development and Global Competitiveness, and a frequent
speaker at business and data conferences worldwide. She is based in the San
Francisco Bay Area and holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy from Georgetown
University.
Fun fact: An avid traveler, Caitlin has trekked
across six continents, from ice caving in Iceland, game spotting in Africa, to
hiking the Great Wall of China.
