Chief Analytics Officer Morgan Stanley

As Chief Analytics Officer Atul is responsible for data driven customer analytics, insights and decisioning to drive deeper customer engagement, better acquisition targeting and stronger ROI across product, marketing, digital and sales & servicing. He joined Morgan Stanley via the E*TRADE acquisition in November 2019 and oversees:

• Deepening Morgan Stanley Wealth Management client relationships with predictive model driven targeting, customer segmentation, data driven strategies and measurement

• Transforming Digital acquisition targeting and optimizing firmwide and Wealth Management marketing investments by leveraging prospect data, targeting models and customer level lifetime value

• Delivering analytics and insights to drive investment product strategy

• Developing strategic and business insights in partnership with stakeholders across Marketing, Banking, Digital Direct, Financial Advisors, and Workplace

• Providing key business performance metrics to Finance and WM Strategy to support external disclosure

• Targeting and insights to enable sales & service strategies

Prior to this, Atul worked at American Express for 19 years and was responsible for a variety of roles in data & analytics. He led various analytics and data science functions for the consumer, commercial and merchant business across the customer lifecycle of acquisition, loyalty, customer cross sell and retention. He was responsible for building American Express’s acquisition and customer big data platform which powered use-cases across marketing, risk and servicing use-cases. Atul has presented at several industry conferences on data & analytics and holds many patents. He earned his master’s degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
