Since the time of university when he won several awards nationally and internationally, taking on seemingly impossible mathematics and computer science problems, working with challenging datasets, coding and creating innovative algorithms, models and tools have been the borderline of professional interest and personal hobby for Omid.

For the past 15 years, Omid has led numerous data & analytics projects in both research and industry sectors, including completion of PhD and Postdoctoral research and development and advancing industry scale data-driven technologies and products.

In late 2019, with the vision of championing transformation within a large data-rich organisation, Omid joined Swiss Re as the Head of Digital and Smart Analytics ANZ, where he is overseeing the application of AI-driven insights in transforming the insurance industry and leading a team of data professionals to deliver advanced analytics projects internally and externally across ANZ.
